Is Intelligence the Ability to Adapt to Change?

It is my colleague Stephen Hawking who said that intelligence is the ability to adapt to change. Unfortunately this is an invalid statement for the simple reason that 'there is only one intelligence which veils itself as manifoldness so to avoid aloneness'. As to the ability to adapt to change? Is NOT that the only constant is flux but that 'self is in a continuous or constant state of flux so to be able to experience constant companionship i.e. love'. It simply is not good for one to be alone. One's very own reason companionship, friendship, love.
