The answer to the question as to "why" — arguably the oldest of philosophical questions — is Love. So the short answer as to "why" is Love. Love is why. But why? For that which asks the question and that which answers the question is but Oneself. Indeed, there are not many separate selves, there's only Oneself. The perception of manifoldness exists for companionship alone. All that is here is but Oneself, Oneself seeking Love. All the others are but Oneself. And yes, correct, companionship equates to Love. Love and companionship are essentially the same. It's all about Love. Love is the one and only purpose of Life. After all; Life is but Oneself embodying itself for the purpose of Love. Love is the only purpose. The only purpose is Love.
